OVERVIEW: The city design & finance firm wanted a fresh look on their website and annual reports. Their work is focused on engineering, design, public policy, and finance. They wanted a look that is easily approachable and simple.

PROBLEM: Challenged with dry contents, the client desired something that could grab the readers’ attention and keep the readers oriented. The previous website was disorganized and unnecessarily convoluted. The annual reports needed to be revamped for the same reason but for a linear read.

SOLUTION: Typographic images and photos were used to organize and compartmentalize. They were organized by high priority sections that went into depth as users went into detailed pages. A separate library page was created to hold annual reports and publications. Annual reports depended on infographics and avoiding large blocks of text to help readers.

RESULT: As a result of the improved website and annual reports, Refocus gained grants and partnerships, and saw a rapid increase in collaboration requests.
